School Elements
Classes
Classes are comprised of three sections: Main Sessions, Workshops, and Electives.
Main Sessions
Main Sessions will take place in the main room with the entire school. They are year long classes from our primary instructors.
Workshops
Workshops are required courses that will split students into groups. They are semester long courses that will take place once a week.
Electives
Electives can be chosen from a list of available classes. They are semester long courses that take place once a week.
Revival Groups
The student body will be divided into seperate groups under a Revival Group Pastor. These groups will cultivate connections between students and staff. Your Revival Group Pastor will be your first point of contact with BSSD staff. Revival Groups will build community, discuss and impart core values, process class-time, and activate students in personal revival.
Small Groups
Small Groups are gender-specific groups of three to five students within Revival Groups. They meet once a week and are centered around developing connection with other students, learning to be self-managing, transparent with each other, and learning to disciple one another. Small Groups will not be assigned until after the first month of school.
Outreach
Outreach is where students will have the chance to apply what they have learned and to allow the supernatural to impact the community. Students will be challenged to face their fears in dealing with strangers, praying for the sick and giving prophetic words to people. Some outreach tools will include prophetic art, and treasure hunts. Outreaches will take place approximately once a week.
Community Involvement
BSSD students will attend and participate in a network of churches across Humboldt County. Students are encouraged to take ownership and consider these their home churches while they are with us. Church attendance on Sundays is considered to be a school day. Students will not just be attendees and participants in these churches, but once they are released into ministry, will be part of the ministry and prayer teams. Students will be asked to serve in these churches in any way needed.
